High-performance ion exchange process

The Aqmos R2D2-72 It uses the proven ion exchange process to effectively remove limescale from your tap water. Hardness-causing calcium and magnesium ions are exchanged for sodium ions, resulting in soft, easy-care water. This technology ensures consistently high softening performance and protects household appliances and pipes from limescale deposits.

Sturdy cabinet and large salt supply

The robust cabinet housing contains a fiberglass-reinforced (FRP) pressure vessel filled with high-quality ion exchange resin. The integrated regeneration salt reservoir holds up to 25 kg of salt, ensuring long refill intervals. A removable lid allows quick access to the salt supply and simplifies maintenance and refilling.

Precise water volume control

The factory-preset BNT 1650 valve measures actual water consumption using an integrated meter. Once the preset volume is reached, regeneration begins in the early morning hours at 2:00 AM. This delayed, volume-controlled regeneration ensures an uninterrupted water flow during the day and guarantees a continuous supply of limescale-free water.

Automatic regeneration process

Once the ion exchange resin is saturated, the system automatically undergoes a regeneration cycle. A highly concentrated saline solution (sodium chloride) is passed over the resin to exchange the used calcium and magnesium ions and flush them into the wastewater. The resin is then fully recharged with sodium ions and ready for the next softening cycle.

During regeneration, an integrated bypass takes over the water supply, ensuring that untreated drinking water remains available at all times. This 24/7 supply prevents shortages and increases user convenience.
